I've had the pleasure of teaching for thirteen years, two of which were in a private school setting.

I am the mother of two daughters, Kayla and Courtney. I received my Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Alabama in 1981 (ROLL TIDE!!!!!). I received my Masters of Science in May, 2004 and began teaching the following August. I received the Golden Apple Award during my second year as a teacher. I received my Education Specialist degree in May 2014. I was selected twice as the Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year-Masters of Science in 2004 and EDs Teacher Leader in 2013.

I am so excited to be a part of such a knowledgeable, loving, and caring family of educators at Grandview Elementary School!!!!

I am passionate about teaching and facilitating rigorous and relevant learning experiences for every child. It is my belief that every child is a unique individual who needs a secure and stimulating environment in which to grow and mature. It is my desire as an educator to provide an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas in order to help students meet their fullest potential. In order to achieve this goal, I expect every student to be actively involved in their learning---------physically and mentally. Both learning and teaching are verbs and cannot be achieved without actions. I have high expectations for myself as well as my students. We learn together!!!!!!
