Grandview Elementary - Reading Specialist 2016

First, I would like to share a little bit about myself. I am a mother of four daughters that are beautiful on the inside and outside: Brittani, Alexxys, Teressa, and Immanuella.  I am a proud wife of an active duty Army soldier, David Montalvo, who is dedicated to protecting the freedoms of his country! I am a teacher of life skills as well as content materials!

I am not only a wife and mother, but a mentor and role model to my friends, students, as well as my little ladies. I enjoy reading, studying and researching the Bible for the hidden treasures of truth found within it, and vacationing with my family.

Married to an Army soldier, I have had the privilege of living in Illesheim, Germany for 13 years. The experience was an awesome one that I have gained much knowledge and cultural experiences from and will be with me for the remainder of my life. I now happily reside in Enterprise, Alabama.

I have experience in the classroom first as a Substitute Teacher for Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grades, next as a Paraprofessional for the Learning Impaired , Mild to Moderate for the 1st through 6th grades, as a Student Teacher with Western Governors University, a Special Education Teaching Assistant for 6th grade and finally as a 5th Grade teacher here at Grandview Elementary. Working with the entire spectrum of learning levels and abilities has truly expanded my perspective as an educator. Throughout my various workings with children, I have discovered that "in everything I teach, there is something to learn." I love learning and love to pass down that passion to others within my reach.

I am super excited about my new position as Reading Specialist here at Grandview Elementary and feel tremendously Blessed of God for the opportunity! I am in my 6th year here at Grandview and I look forward to growing exponentially and developing more into the person God has called me to be.
