Grandview's Media Center
Welcome to Grandview Elementary School's Media Center. Our media collection contains over 10,000 children's books, big books, video cassettes, DVD cassettes, listening centers, cds, and teacher resource books. We are very fortunate to be equipped with 14 networked computers which are used for Internet research, learning and literacy activities, word processing and automated check-in/check-out using the Atrium Automation system.
Other media center equipment includes a Promethean Board and Projector, Apple TV, televisions, DVD player, CD/tape players, overhead projectors, and more.
Students in Kindergarten-5th grade attend the Media Center once a week for 30 minutes. Additional open blocks of time are provided for students to come check out books or for teachers to schedule research or collaborative activities.
Grandview uses Accelerated Reader to compliment the reading program. Students check out books on their reading level and test their comprehension on a computerized test.
